Genetic Starcraft

I used to kind of shit on Starcraft but lately I’ve gotten way into the science of it. Even as an outsider (I can’t RTS to save my life) it’s great watching replays on Husky’s channel.

This however, takes the cake. Louis Brandy has been playing with a Star Craft II build order ‘evolver’. It works with sets of units to be built and tests them out. It came up with a pretty clever roach rush that sounds strong:

“First, from a starcraft perspective: it is incredibly strong. To be clear, I am certain virtually anyone who practiced this build and went onto the ladder and used it in every game would very easily rise to diamond level (currently the highest league). The seven roaches at that time in the game will destroy all but the most well-executed counter-builds.”

That’s quite a claim!
